

Allie Ruth King walked into heaven on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 after 95 years of her earthly journey. she died peacefully surrounded by family members. Born in Coushatta, Louisiana to Katie and Dewey Bell on September 17, 1921, she lived most of her life in Texas. After knowing Selvin King for only 3 days, they married at the First Baptist Church in Laird Hill, Texas with the union lasting for 62 years until his death. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Laura Mae Hammontree of New London, Texas and her brother Dewey Bell of Palestine, Texas along with her husband Selvin.
She was a woman of faith who studied the Bible and prayed unceasingly. Her three sons were raised in an immaculate house with delicious home cook meals every day. She could beat anyone in a game of dominoes or diecy almost to the end of her life. She is survived by her sons and their spouses Don (Belinda)King, Larry King all of Longview and Mike (Trish) King of Houston, Texas. Top of the list were the joys her life the five grandchildren: Greg (Kristin) King of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kelly King Strahm (Ken) of Wichita, Kansas, Jennifer King Reif (Matt) of Houston, Angela King Stripling (Jay) of The Woodlands and Ashley King of Euless along with three great grandchildren Braden and Ryan King of Edmond, Oklahoma and Addison Stripling of The Woodlands. She will be remembered for countless things but mainly for her love of family that extended to all of her "favorite" nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in the Buckner Westminster Chapel with Dr. Rick Webb officiating.
The family would like to express their sincerest heartfelt thanks to the compassionate administrative staff and caregivers at Buckner Westminster Place, Harbor Unit in Longview, Texas where she resided the last 3 years and also to Hearts Way Hospice who provided additional benevolent care during the end of her life.
