Ann was born on April 6, 1944, to Melba Holly Benefield and Hollis Zack Benefield in Emerson, Arkansas.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Bourn; her three children, Leanne Diviney, Laura Drennan and husband, Marvin Drennan, and Toxy Bourn and fiancé, Kendall Meadows; brother, Jimmy Benefield; granddaughters, Gavyn Diviney and fiancé Keelan Cooksie, Camille Drennan Castleberry and husband, Josh Castleberry, and Emma Bourn; sisters-in-law, Jane Bourn Hughes and husband, Bill Hughes, Lisa Bourn Simmons and Dara Bourn; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill and Ann owned First Security and Electronics in Longview where they worked side by side for 29 years until she became too ill to work. Ann was a devoted mother and Grammy. She took special joy in creating lasting memories with her family and friends. Ann enjoyed babysitting her granddaughters, cooking for her family and friends, and just spending time with loved ones. She loved “getting out of the house to shop” (TJ Maxx and Maurice’s will surely miss her) and making family trips to the beach. Ann was truly an amazing wife, mother, Grammy and friend. Her memory will be dearly cherished by all that knew her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rama Koya and the staff at Texas Oncology, Longview, for taking wonderful care of Ann during her cancer treatment.
A Celebration of Life, for Ann, will be held on June 6, 2025 at Miss Mary’s Place located at 1997 Farm to Market 2011, Longview, TX, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude’s.
