Tommy Kerr Kanniard Sr.

Services for Tommy Ker Kanniard, Sr., 76, of Longview, Texas, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Mickey Shirley officiating. Mr. Kanniard passed away October 16, 2015 in a Longview Hospital. Tommy was born October 23, 1938 in Apple Grove, West Virginia to Garland Kanniard and Pearl Spears. He met and married the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Loretta Corrine Trumbo Kanniard on August 6, 1958. Together they raised five children, Kathy Jones, Chris Kanniard, Delia Hively, Stacy Kanniard, and Tommy, Jr.

Granting a wish of his wife, whom so wanted to move to Texas, They traveled from Ohio in 1974 to settle in the East Texas area where he enjoyed the country life and caring for horses when he wasn't on the road as a Truck Driver. He retired from Longview Road and Bridge and spent the rest of his days hanging out with the Ole' Lady and his dogs that he loved so much.

He is survived by his devoted wife Loretta and his children, his son-in-law Dale Hively, granddaughters, Amanda Gage of Tatum, Samantha Kanniard of Longview, grandsons, Tommy Kanniard III of Longview, Kaleb Hively of Longview, Manson Kanniard of Longview, and two great granddaughters, and on great grandson. Tommy is also survived by his brothers, Richard, John, and Harold Kanniard, and Charles Jenkins, and his sisters, Janice, Georgie Marcum, and Gwyneth.

Tommy was a very hard working man who provided for his family and who will always be remembered for his hard work ethics and his dedication to his family. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dencil Kanniard. The family will receive guest from 3:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home
