Verna "Jeannie" Jeane Oldham

Jeannie was born on July 10, 1940 to Ralph Vernon and Rubye Frances Oldham in Longview, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Bettye June (Oldham) Brooks and her brother-in-law Charles R. Brooks.

Jeannie graduated from Longview High School and attended both Harding College in Searcy, AR and Panola College in Carthage, Texas.

Jeannie worked for several companies in the Longview area in clerical positions and at one point owned her own cleaning service business. In 1993 she moved from Longview to be near family in Billings, Montana. There, she joined Charles R. Brooks & Associates as a business assistant. She worked in that capacity until 2007.

Jeannie was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and attended regularly in Longview, Texas and Billings, Montana until she was unable to do so due to health reasons. Music was an important part of Jeannie’s life. She loved singing alto in church worship. She took great pleasure in listening to piano and classical orchestral performances, as well as playing and teaching the piano and playing the violin. She loved spending time with family and especially her two nephews.

Jeannie is survived by her nephew Bradford Oldham Brooks and his wife Marian of Walsenburg, Colorado and her nephew Charles Brentley Brooks and his wife Barbara of Billings, Montana. She is also survived by two grand nephews and several great grand nieces and nephews.

Humble thanks and blessings to those who cared for Jeannie in Chapel Court, Garden Court and Powers Cottage at St. John’s United in Billings, Montana for their compassionate care during Jeannie’s last chapter here on earth.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted by her nephews at Memory Park Cemetery at 10:00am on June 7, 2023.
