

William "Bill" Niemoth, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026 in Longview, Texas. Born on May 10, 1940, in Gladewater, Texas, to William F. Niemoth and Cora Niemoth, Bill grew up in Laird Hill, Texas and graduated from Kilgore High School in 1959.
A proud veteran, Bill served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis as an E-4 in the Navy from 1961 to 1967. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duties; he was a compassionate soul who always lent a helping hand to those in need.
In 1973, Bill married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Niemoth, and together they embraced the joys of parenthood with the arrival of their two children. He dedicated 15 years of his career as a mechanic at Harrison County Road and Bridge, known for his expertise and unwavering work ethic.
Bill had a passion for life that was evident in his favorite pastimes. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing, working around the house, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. A devoted family man, he cherished every moment with his children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of strength, pride, and kindness.
His family will forever remember him as a strong and proud man who demonstrated love through his actions. Bill's generous spirit and willingness to help others made a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Niemoth; parents: William F. and Cora Niemoth; son: Timothy Niemoth.
He leaves behind daughter: Julia Cooner and her husband Joseph of Hollister, MO; son: William Niemoth and his wife Kathy of Longview, TX; grandchildren: Layne Cooner (Bree), Dakota Cooner (Ryann), Triston Cooner, William "Gavin" Niemoth, Caydance Cooner, and Little Deb Cooner; great-grandchildren: Elayna; Sister: Elsie Pasche.
Bill Niemoth leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the American Legion, Post 267, in Marshall, Texas.
Visitation will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX 75604, on February 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 5000 W Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75604, US, on March 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
