

Jean was raised in the country and later moved to Arlington, Texas and graduated from Arlington High School in 1950. She married Billy Murray Chipman in 1950 and the couple had 4 children. She was a Lingerie Dept. Manager at Fedway’s, Dillard's and Riff’s in downtown Longview.
Upon retirement, Billy and Jean were full time RVers, volunteered with the Christian Church Builders, and managed church camps traveling all over Texas and Colorado.
Jean was a longtime member of Greggton First Baptist Church. She had a happy and long marriage of almost 70 years to Billy Chipman and resided many years on Lake Cherokee in Longview, and most recently at The Eastman Senior Living. Jean enjoyed playing board games, cards, Greedy and dominoes.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a lifelong, faithful servant of Christ and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, as well as a friend to many.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Billy; a baby daughter, Janice Kay; her parents and 4 siblings.
She is survived by: son Rickey Chipman and spouse Cathy of Hallsville; son Howard Kent Chipman and spouse Cindy of Hallsville; daughter Julia Chipman of Sherman, Texas; two grandchildren, Jennifer Townes and Chris Chipman and one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Pugh.
