Ann Gardner Weiss of Long Beach, CA passed away on January 19th, 2023 at the age of 79. Ann was born in New York City on August 17th, 1943 and moved to California with her parents when she was five. Ann spent most of her life in California, with a brief stint to Tucson, Arizona, where she quickly learned that the desert heat was not her cup of tea!
Ann had a passion for learning and for health care. After working as a nurse for several years, she continued her education to achieve a BS and eventually a Master of Science degree from UCLA. She cared for patients as a Nurse Practitioner until her retirement in 2011.
Retirement did not end Ann's love of learning and new activities. She took courses on a wide range of topics at the Osher Lifelong Learning for seniors, and was a voracious reader. She also loved gardening, bowling, golf, and pickleball. She loved spending time with family, friends, and admiring the lovely rose in her Long Beach garden. She leaves behind many heavy hearts that will miss her sharp wit and kind heart. She is survived by her life partner, Susan Hartman, her two sons, Todd and Chad, and three grandchildren Minami, Linus, and Robert.
