1920-2011
Jane Lunt Scoll, well-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Los Angeles, California on July 25, 2011 at the age of 91 years. Jane was the youngest of eight children born to John Edger Lunt and Lydia Jane Kendall Lunt on February 23, 1920 in Nephi, Utah. She claims to have been blessed with the best family and happiest childhood anyone could hope for. Jane married Bert Scoll on July 3, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The following year they moved to Los Angeles, California, where they have resided for more than six decades, except for 18 months while serving an LDS mission in Cape Town, South Africa. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. Jane is survived by her husband of 67 years, their son, David Scoll (Gayla), Los Angeles, California, daughters Janet Smith (Alex), Sandy, Utah, and Jean Hawkins (Kevin), Orem, Utah, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Homer Lunt and Boyd Lunt, and sisters Aiden Beagley, Beth Belliston, Ruth Toronto, Marjorie Sainsbury, and Marie, who died in infancy. Mom leaves us with a great example of a life of service, love, faith, and a wonderful sense of humor. We hope to honor her by following that example. A memorial service will be held at the Telford Ward Chapel, 1834 Creek Road, Sandy, Utah on Monday, August 1, at 10:30 a.m. Interment at the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah. Also, a memorial service will be held at the Westwood Ward Chapel, 10740 Ohio, Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, August 6, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
