

His parents names were Santos Guillen Aguilar and Maria Concepcion Bravo.
He has one one one sister, her name is Ofelia Guillen Cuevas (aka Morufa) and onebrother
Alberto Guillen Ruiz (aka La Menasa).
On June 19th, 2021 he passed away at home in Los Angeles. He was 72 years old.
He is survived by his son Javier Guillen Jr. and his daughter Nancy Rivera. His sister Ofelia
Guillen Cuevas. His aunt Francisca Ruiz, who he saw as mother figure. He has several close
cousins like Maritin Ruiz, Beto Ruiz, Maria de Jesus, Clemen Ruiz, Flor Ruiz, Alicia Lepe. And
godfather to Ernesto Ruiz.
His nicknames were Javi (short for Javier) and Guicho.
Javier arrived in the USA in the mid-seventies
Javier started a family with Irma Rivera, the mother of his son in 1978.
Employment: Started working in California Cartage Inc in 1977, working in the Long Beach
Port.
Places of Residence: Guadalajara, Tijuana, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
He was a fun person who would give nicknames to everyone he loved. Always fun with a great
sense of humor. He aways carried a positive mindset, always helping others, full of laughter,
quick witted, he had nicknames for everyone, very caring, very humble, hard worker, very
respectful and lovable.
Favorite food:
Carne Asada, Menudo from his Aunt’s, Pizza, Caldo de Rez, Campechanas. Also, enjoyed
drinking beer and tequila.
The thing we loved most about Javier:
Loved that he was caring of people and his family. Very protective, very caring, always made
people feel welcome. Always tried to make people welcomed and feel good in his presence.
Favorite memories from his cousin Maria de Jesus:
“He would always have parties when we visited him in Guadalajara when the family visited and
got a band to play music for everyone. eating breaded shrimp with his cousins.
