
Hi my name is Sharon Holguin Valenzuela. I have a memory of my cousin Buddy. 
When I was 16 years old I worked at the Drive-In Theatre. I was waiting for my Mom to drop me off at work because I didn’t drive. Buddy was at our house and volunteered to take me.  When we went outside he told me I want you to drive. He had a beautiful yellow Mustang. I said, “are you sure? I don’t drive.” He said you have to start sometime. I will never forget that day he taught me how to drive in his beautiful car and never yelled or said anything negative to me. He encouraged me to drive and was very calm and patient. So, to this day that memory is held in my heart. Rest in Paradise my Cousin ♥️ 

Dear Michealene, Christina and Jenni the beautiful, darling daughters of Nancy & Manuel

We join your family in mourning the loss of your Dad ....
but, still are so very grateful that he has touched our lives over so many years.

Several folks have reached out wanting to know ...
is there some organization that your Dad supported that they can donate to in his name?
(Manuel was such a generous and helpful friend, so this seems like what he might want.)

My favorite memory of Mr. Holguin was when he came out to Long Beach to cheer Mikie on at the beginning of the Avon Breast Cancer walk in 2007.  It was a 2 day 40 mile walk and he was so proud and supportive of what she was doing.  

My primo, what can I say about an honorable man who overcame adversity, built a career through hard work, and bought a house for his loving wife Nancy.  Buddy was a good son and father helping family members when possible and he loved his grandchildren.  He was a living legacy to his father by his discipline for for hard work and caring for his family. Primo, I will always remember you! In loving memory of you, Lou

I went to high school with Manuel.  He had a couple nicknames. 
 Some of us called him 'Buddy'...to others he was 'Sam'.  I don't know the origin of either of those, sorry.  Manuel played football and always had a cool car.  A 1966 Pontiac GTO and a 1955 Chevy P/U were standouts.  I recall he was usually smiling and joking during our school years and had lots of friends.  
 
I don't think many of the old gang  saw Manuel much after high school.   When we did see him, at a class reunion or whatever,  he was still smiling and joking.  No matter what bumps in the road he hit during his life,  he was still the same guy to us.   Rest in peace Sam.

Buddy this is my final letter until we meet again in our lords presence, thanks for for your words of encouraging hope that gave me strength to believe when I was hopeless now I’m sending it back with this quote from the lord Hebrews Chapter 13-20 now may the god of love and peace who brought again from the dead our lord jesus the great shepherd of the sheep shepherd you home till I myself come and all those you held so dearly meet again 💕 love Carlos Benavidez
