I think if you often dear Rebecca. I miss you💕

Sending deepest condolences to Jack, Tessa, Nicholas and the Staples and De Nicola families. I am so grateful to have known Rebecca and will remember her always. Her energy, passion and love for life, family and fitness were inspiring and she was an incredibly loving and supportive coach and friend. Sending love and hugs. 

Rebecca was my dear friend of over 30 years.  I hired her to be my trainer, but we became fast friends. We met our future husbands around the same time, and were married within a year of each other. We loved her and Jack’s wedding so much, we based ours on theirs. Of course Jack catered ours as well. We got pregnant around the same time and welcomed beautiful Tessa and my son Alec into our happy homes. I am filled with such gratitude for knowing this amazing woman who inspired and encouraged me to embrace physical exercise and always pushed me when I wanted to stop. Her mega smile and sense of humor I will miss so very much. We had a short hand when we spoke, and we could tell each other anything. I was fortunate to have spoken with her at length on the phone the day before she passed, and I cried about something, then she cried with me. We told each other how much we loved each other, and how important our friendship meant to us. That is the Rebecca I will always remember. I hope you are at peace my dear sweet friend. I’ll love you always.

My soul felt broken when I heard you had passed away and I can't believe you are not here.  What a ray of sunshine you were!!  We met over 16 years ago and I loved your smile and your energy.  I knew you and Jack were perfect.  You were everything at that time I wished I was.   Your heart was such a light and you made me feel so very special.  You said words to me that I hadn't heard from anyone in such a long time.   You complimented me, told me something I will never forget.  You said that  " I handled myself with such grace" (no one has ever said that to me!!), you lifted my spirit when I needed it most.   We were from 2 different worlds, yet you listened, and you gave me hope for tomorrow.  You never judged, just accepted me for me. Thank you. I am so grateful to have known you and shared time with you.   Each day that has gone by, I can't stop thinking of you and praying for your family as they search for comfort and peace.   Rebecca, we only knew each other a short time but we share someone so very special, and I am forever changed by the 2 of you.

Rebecca was a joy and we shall be eternally grateful for her kindness and the delight of evenings at Lobster (on 2 different trips to Santa Monica) where two Kiwis (well, I did start life in Esquimalt too) were shown to the best table in the house, fed the most delicious food & drink - all the while given an 'A-lister' treatment that had the other diners staring and wondering who are those New Zealand guys....
 Rebecca you made everybody you encountered feel special, and with an honest and natural ease.  Thank you for that gift.  You live on in your family, your friends, and in the hearts of all those that your life touched.   With love, David Robinson & Gregg Crimp

My sincere condolences to the DeNicola and Staples families. Rebecca was quick to help others. When I spoke to her in October she was helping seniors write their memoirs. I wish she could have lived long enough to write hers. I’ll miss you Rebecca but we’ll continue to have more conversations at Saxe Point .  Love you.  Caryn
