Don Conger Don Conger, born in August 1929 in San Diego, passed away on January 3, 2016, in San Luis Obispo. Growing up Don enjoyed swing music and good, clean fun. At a friends party he met his girl Shirley Krehbiel, whom he was married to for 63 years. Don graduated from USC in 1952. After enlisting in the Army, he rapidly moved up the ranks and was honorably discharged as Sergeant First Class, then was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Reserve. Never really retiring from the family business, he has spent his golden years rooting for his USC Trojans and spending time with family enjoying cards and so much laughter. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Conger; mother, Thelma Lee Ellis and brother, Lin Conger. Don is survived by his wife, Shirley Joyce; children: Lori, Gary, and Linda (Steve) Conger- Marvin; grandchildren: Kritine (Rex), James, Alissa and Bradlee, and ex-daughter-in law, Cathy Conger.
