George was born on July 19th, 1958 to Earl J. Moon and Ida Macebo Moon. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Grace Sebastian; his maternal grandparents, Manuel and Maria Macebo; and his father Earl. George is survived by his son, Erik Moon, and was married to Erik’s mother Ingrid Moon for 22 years. George is further survived by his mother Ida, his sister Chris Moon, his sister Kathy Moon (Dave), and his brother Earl Moon, Jr. (Jan). He is remembered fondly by his family and by hundreds of friends, coworkers, and acquaintances.
George worked for the California Department of Corrections for over 25 years before his retirement at age 55. He enjoyed listening to and playing music, playing softball, camping, and riding motorcycles. Most importantly, George enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.
He was a natural creator of many fond and funny memories. His infectious laugh, quick wit, and enthusiasm for life endeared him to many. He will be sorely missed by all.
