Lawrence Hudson Lawrence (Larry) Hudson passed on to be with Jesus at his home in San Luis Obispo on Sunday evening, August 31, 2014. His passing was sudden and quick. Larry was born in 1937 to a poor Los Angeles family. Although he was a child of the Depression and endured much hardship, he never allowed misfortune to define him. He was a lifelong student and avid reader. Larry served in the Army National Guard as a tank mechanic and earned two Meritorious Service Commendations. As a civilian, he was a sheet metal worker for Hughes Aircraft contributing to many spacecraft during the Space Race. Larry was dedicated to his faith in Christ and lived out the love of God to all those who crossed his path. As a deacon he faithfully served his church in Rialto and later, his church in Los Osos. He was an artist and preferred to sketch in pencil. His family is proud of his beautiful artwork that graces their homes. Larry was dearly loved by his family. He was a pillar of strength, knowledge, wisdom and faith. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Larry is survived by his wife Donna; his brother Ted and sister Nancy; his two daughters, Pam Ventresca (Don) and Bev Boitel (John); his three grandchildren, Sarah Mitchell (Mario), Jeremy Ventresca (Kristin), and Hannah Grotte (Kevin), and his four great grandchildren, Molly, Alex, Eva and Isaac. Services honoring Larry will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 10:30am at First Baptist Church of Los Osos.
