

When Morgan was a child his family moved from Oklahoma to California, where he attended school in Visalia, California. Morgan was a proud graduate of Mt. Whitney High School Class of 1956. Morgan also attended College of the Sequoias and San Jose State University. While cruising Mooney Blvd he met and eventually married Doris Lewellyn from Hanford.
They soon married and Morgan relocated to Hanford where he was the owner of the 10th Avenue Produce Market. Years later Morgan also managed Western Consumers Country Store in Tulare.
Morgan enjoyed classic and custom cars. He was a member of the Visalia Vapor Trailers Car Club for approximately 60 years.
Morgan was proceeded in death by his wife of 44 years Doris, his parents Oscar “Bud” & Mary Cooley, and his daughter Sandra Lackey.
Morgan moved to Los Osos in San Luis Obispo County where he loved participating in local car shows. He still traveled to the Central Valley to attend class reunions, and car shows. He was known for his bright yellow 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible known as “Big Bird.” In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with other local car enthusiasts and was a big fan of Dodger baseball.
Morgan was survived by a daughter, Joanna Cassidy of Hanford, and David Cooley (wife Linda) of Hanford. In addition, he is also survived by his son-in-law John Lackey of Manteca, numerous grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Per Morgan’s request there will be no public services. He will be placed in eternal rest at the Hanford Cemetery alongside his wife.
