

Ruby Waldhelm was born on July 24, 1938 in Clovis, New Mexico to parents Clarence Patton and Flora Mae (Lee) Patton. She graduated from Fremont High School in Los Angeles. In September 1955 she moved to Inglewood, California and accepted a position as a secretary at McDonald Douglas, where she worked for about four years.
Ruby was married to George Waldhelm in 1955 and the couple had two sons together, Tom and Michael Waldhelm. She was a business woman, wife and mother and was deeply involved in both the Quota and Women’s Clubs in Morro Bay for the majority of her life on the central coast.
Ruby enjoyed gardening, quilting and tennis. Her family and friends will always remember her as a strong and independent woman.
Ruby Waldhelm is survived by her son, Thomas Waldhelm and his wife, Kathryn Waldhelm of Lafayette, Indiana. She also has two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Waldhelm, her son, Michael Waldhelm, her father, Clarence Patton, her mother, Flora Mae Patton and her sister, Louise Patton.
The family would like to thank Ruby’s closest friends and family for their love and support and help during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Quota Club of Morro Bay. Ruby is being laid to rest at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park.
