It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra M. Helow, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on January 11, 2026. Born on May 26, 1949, Sandra lived a life defined by generosity, delicious food, and an unwavering love for her family. To those who knew her best, and especially to her adoring grandchildren, she was simply "Sitti."
Sandra dedicated her life to the art of catering, believing that the best way to bring people together was around a table filled with love and flavor. In 1994, she brought her talents to Morro Bay, a community she quickly grew to love and one that loved her right back. She became a fixture in the area, known not just for her culinary skills in Lebanese ethnic cuisine, but also for her passionate, community-focused spirit. Whether catering a local event or feeding a neighbor, Sandra poured her heart into everything she did, leaving a legacy of warmth and hospitality that Morro Bay will not soon forget.
Above all her professional achievements, Sandra's greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of four sons: Samuel, Eli, AJ, and Jorden. Her role as "Sitti" was perhaps her most cherished title. Her grandchildren: Tod, Isadora, Logan, Peyton, Isaac, and Luca, were the lights of her life, and she spoiled them with the kind of love only a grandmother can give.
Sandra is survived by her sons and grandchildren, as well as her loving siblings: Linda, Louise, Frankie, Nancee, Debbie, and Steven.
Sandra’s kitchen may be quiet now, but the memories created there, and the love she served alongside every meal, will nourish her family and community forever. She will be deeply missed.
Her service will be held at Los Osos Memorial Park on Friday January 23, 2026 at 10 am.
