

Adele, a faithful and devoted wife to Ted O’Connell, who preceded her in death, built a loving home in Trumbull, Connecticut for their 37 years of marriage. A dedicated employee, Adele spent 39 years as an executive secretary for Bryant Electric, retiring in 1980. Adele served the Trumbull community by volunteering for the Women’s Auxiliary Club in conjunction with the Trumbull Fire Department, which raised money and planned community events. Adele enjoyed a vibrant social life, entertaining guests, bowling with friends, and shopping trips to New York City. A lifelong Catholic, Adele, who spent her final 28 years in Louisville, KY, was a member of St. Albert the Great parish.
A part of the Greatest Generation, Adele lived through the Great Depression, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, 9/11, and 17 presidents.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Theodore O’Connell, “Ted”, her parents, Albert and Adele Ebtinger, her brother, Henry Ebtinger (Phyllis). She is survived by her loving niece, Joan Fielding (Larry), her caregiver for 17 years, her nephew, David O’Connell (Melba), her niece, Marty Liggins, her great-nephews, Kent Fielding (Este), Scott Fielding (Lisa), her great-niece, Jaimie McRae (Jeff) and her great-great-nieces: Rachel, Callia, Allison, Josie, Kate, Lily, Jessa and Amara.
Adele will be sorely missed by those who knew her and loved her dearly.
A memorial celebration of life mass will be held at Saint Albert the Great Church on May 22nd, at 10:30. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the mass from 10-10:30 in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Saint Albert the Great Church, 1395 Girard Drive, Louisville, KY, 40222.
