On December 13th, 2021, Alberico Giuseppe Esposito passed away at the age of 86, surrounded by his wife of 56 years, Rosa Perri, and his three daughters: Francesca Kimes (Jim), Gina Johansen (Mark), and Erica Hodge (Jon). He was preceded in death by his parents, Raimondo and Francesca; his brothers, Angelino, Gregorio, and Faust; and his sister, Emma. He is survived by his seven grandchildren: Emma, Evan, Samuel, Ethan, Alberico, Silvio, and Vito. He is also survived by his sisters: Teresa, residing in Australia; Maria (Tanino Montalto), and Rosa, residing in Italy; and many nieces and nephews in Italy, Australia, and the United States.
Alberico was born in the small Calabria village of Pianopoli, Italy on March 13th, 1935 to a family of orchard farmers. He immigrated to Louisville, Kentucky in 1965. Alberico worked in construction in Pittsburgh before returning to Louisville to be closer to Rosa's parents. For years, he invested in real estate across the Louisville area. Later in life, he enjoyed his retirement by being with his family.
Alberico was known as a hard worker, a master bricklayer, and a loving father and Papa. He valued a good education for his daughters and grandchildren. He loved to watch old westerns and make his family laugh. He will forever be remembered as one of a kind, and our hearts are broken.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Monday, December 20, 2021 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7500 Tangelo Dr. Louisville, Kentucky, with entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2pm-8pm Sunday at Evergreen Funeral Home.
