She was the youngest of 12 children, born October 26, 1920 in Louisville, the daughter of Henry and Anna Mary (Krugel) Allsmiller. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl F. Hicks, Sr.; 11 siblings and an infant son.
Alberta was a lifelong member of St. Peters Evangelical U.C.C. and retired from the RC Canada Dry Bottling Company after 21 years of service.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Carl F. Hicks, Jr. (Debbie); five grandchildren, Brian Hicks, Becky Brooks, Jason Hicks (Brittany), Jamie Hicks (Sheila) and Jenni Newkirk (Brian); 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Alberta’s life will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to the American Cancer Society.
