Born in Louisville on September 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lester Devine and Nova Reeks Devine. Catholic by religion, Anita retired as a production worker from Philip Morris and Dynacraft. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her children. She lived for her three boys. Throughout the length of her extended illness, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Sandra. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and especially her son, John, and her four legged companion, Baby Bella.
Anita is reunited in death with her parents and her children, George Allen Phillips, Jr. and Patrick Dale Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren Anthony Phillips and Christopher Phillips, her brother-in-law, Joseph Randall Hamlet, and longtime companion Joey Nall.
She leaves behind her children, John Phillips, Kim Brown, and Duncan Russell. She also leaves behind two daughter-in-laws, Patrick’s wife Lisa Faye Phillips and John’s wife Sandra Gasga Pena as well as George’s significant other Renee Mullaney. Anita is also survived by 23 grandchildren. Tiffany, Jamie, Randy, Joseph, Joetta, Jonathan, Charles, Ryan, Whitney, Monica, Gil, Ivan, Zachary, Caleb, Dakota, Cameron, Savannah, Christina, Ann, Sarah, Daniel, David and Rebecca; 32 great-grandchildren, her sister Wanda Hamlet, her brother Jerry Devine, sister-in-law Cecilia Devine, her beloved dog Baby Bella; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Heady - Hardy Funeral Home. Anita will be laid to rest in Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. and then again on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Hour of 11:00 a.m. also at Heady - Hardy Funeral Home.
