

He was the son of the late Quentin and Frances Smith Dunbar. Mike was a devoted husband to the love of his life Brenda, father to his pride and joy Heather, and grandfather to the apple of his eye Taylor. These were his girls, and nothing brought him more joy.
Mike was a Christian, having professed his faith in Christ at a young age. He was veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during the Vietnam War, after which he attended UofL Speed School. Mike made his career in sales before his retirement some 15 years ago. Mike was a prolific reader, a lifelong fan of UofL sports, and he was very competitive, especially in basketball and golf, which he loved to play with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Ken Dunbar. Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda Coffey Dunbar, daughter, Heather Dunbar Harrington, granddaughter Taylor Harrington, sister Lisa Dunbar Finch (Donnie), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for Mike will be from 11:00am - 2:00pm Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213 with his funeral immediately following at 2:00pm.
Pallbearers are David Coffey, Matthew Coffey, Christopher Spaulding, Jameson Finch, Jonathan Finch, and Randy Davidson.
Entombment will be in the Evergreen Mausoleum.
