Betty Jean DeArk passed away peacefully Friday, September 15, 2017, with her loving granddaughter by her side. Betty was blessed with a beautiful voice and sang in many church choirs to express her love for her Lord and Savior. She had a passion for animals and contributed many donations to animal relief organizations. Her hobbies included playing piano, singing opera and she even obtained a pilot's license. She enjoyed her professional life long career as a Interior designer. Betty was the beloved wife to the late George Edward DeArk for 59 years. Betty was the devoted mother to Keith Edward DeArk and his wife Kimberly Ann DeArk. She was a loving grandmother to Leigha Jean Canfield and Cody Michael DeArk and great-grandmother to Lilliana Grace Canfield. Also survived by her sister Elizabeth (John) Chamberlin, nieces Angela (Lee) Leet and Elisha (Chris) Risher. Family and friends will gather in her honor on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 11:00am-1:00pm with a celebration of Betty's life at 1:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville KY 40218. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA or the Humane Society in her honor.
