She was a 1957 graduate of the General Hospital Nursing School, she was a Registered Nurse, the Director of Nursing at Methodist Hospital for 40 years, and was in charge of Critical Care/ICU/Telemetry.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, John Bass Reams Jr.; her parents, Marshal and Beatrice Bentley; and a sister, Linda Handley.
She is survived by her children, John Bass Reams III and fiancee', Carmen Withrow, Mark Reams and spouse, Rose; a sister, Martha Cornn; and three grandchildren, Virginia Ann Reams, Josephine Rose Reams, and Penelope Lane Reams and many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am-12:30 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village - 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222. A funeral service will start at 12:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment at Cave Hill Cemetery.
