She was born August 15, 1934 and was a resident of the Louisville area from 1934 until 1959. She then lived in Lebanon Junction, KY from 1959-1980. After words, she lived in Stuart, FL from 1980 - 1997 and in St. Lucie Co. from 1997 -2007. She taught elementary school in KY as well as in Florida. She was a Christian by faith, a KY Colonel and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband Dr, James Roney, children, Kimberly DePalma, Rhonda Stevens, Wesley Roney, J. Gorden Roney. Sisters, Freda Glur, Vandalee Harrod and Barbara Buchanan.
A funeral service will be conducted Noon, Monday March 28, 2011 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday. A private family Inurnment will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to U of L Movement Disorder Center.
