Betty J. Snyder

Betty J. Snyder, 84 years young, passed away at her home with her family by her side on June 23, 2013. She was born on December 11, 1928 to the late Herbert and Vada Popham. Betty was born and raised in Portland and lived at 33rd and Missouri. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Tim.

Mom was a devoted homemaker, a former member of Our Lady of Church and voulenteer at the school during the children’s school years. They are currently members of Saint Gabriel Church.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lee “Butch” R. Snyder, Sr.; her three children, Barbara (Art) Alderson of Bentonville, Arkansas; Dennis (Debra) Snyder; Ray (Beverly) Snyder and daughter in-law- Cindy Snyder of Fredericksburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Bryan (Lisa) and Lorne (Shelley) Snyder, Kimberly (Wayne) Rolen, Jennifer (Ricky) Guffey, and Eric Snyder; David Alderson and Tom (Sarah) Alderson both of Bentonville, Arkansas, Zach (Samantha) Kolan and Maggie Snyder of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and six great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial Memorial service will be conducted Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 5505 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
