Brian R. Parker was an unforgettable father, friend, and husband whose kindness and generosity brought light into countless lives. He died peacefully at home on January 26, 2025, surrounded by friends and family who are forever moved by the depth of his love.
Brian lived in devotion to his wife, Nyna Parker, his daughter, Emily, and his step-children Sarah and the dearly missed Justin (Griffin) Morris, who he raised as his own. He was honored with the “Best Dad in Recorded History” award for 27 consecutive years.
Brian was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 17, 1963 to Norm and Nancy and will be cherished by his siblings Diane and James (JP). After graduating from Midpark High in 1981, he dedicated several years to the US Marines, serving time in Okinawa. His fiery and intrepid spirit found adventure along the Florida coast, where he worked as an aircraft fueler for several years before returning home. He then began his career at the Ford Motor Company, relocating to Louisville where he worked tirelessly as a material handler for over 25 years. He was a steadfast worker and mentor to all, a loyal companion and family man. Had he instead pursued a career in Hollywood, he would have run every comedian out of business.
Brian’s laughter still rings throughout the sanctuary he cultivated for his loved ones. His excellent taste in music, love of football, and culinary skill brought joy to all he knew, and Brian never once met a stranger. “I lived a good life,” he often said towards the end; he lived selflessly and exuberantly. He died as a legend whose warmth will resonate with us forever.
Celebration of Life will be held on February 17, 2025 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Worthington Glen Club House, 10200 Worthington Glen Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40241.
