Carl Wilburn Blackburn

Carl Wilburn Blackburn, age 82, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday April 17, 2018. Carl was born October 12, 1935 in McDowell, West Virginia. He proudly served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division as a combat Medic during the Korean War. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church, American Legion Highland Post 201, and he was a Kentucky Colonel.

Carl is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Jean; son Carl A. Blackburn (Ginger); daughter Gloria Correll (Bill); six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He will be dearly missed by his extended family.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Eula Blackburn and his brother, James.

Visitation is Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road from 3 to 8 pm.

A second visitation will be held on Friday at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy from 9 am until time of service at 11 am at the church.

Carl will be laid to rest with military honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery.
