

Carole Russell (Deacon) Browning, of Louisville, passed away March 26, 2011. She was born on April 13, 1944. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for over 50 years. She considered all her students as family. Carole studied music at University of Louisville.
She was employed by Gist Piano Center as a piano teacher for 30 years and an organist for Hopewell Presbyterian Church. She was a member and accompanist of The Motet Singers, and she was a 1962 graduate of Valley High School.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents Tip and Ann Russell and sister Nina Overstreet. She is survived by husband of 25 years, Jerry Browning; two sons, Robert Deacon III (Jakki) and Stephan Deacon (Karen); brothers, Wayne Russell and Don Russell; and sisters, Judi Geyman (Chris), Kay Harris (Allen), Charmion Billington; grandsons Josh, Zach, Avery Deacon; ten nieces and nephews; and her loving pet Sweetie.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home followed by burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 Tuesday.
