Cheryl & Richard - My heart aches for you each day. Cheryl, Chad would be so proud of you for pushing forward each day with the grace, kindness and love that you show to everyone around you. You have an amazing heart and I am so sorry this has happened to you. I just want you to know even after 5, 10 years have passed, you will have Grant and I holding your hand forever. We are always just a phone call away. Day, night, midnight, whenever you need. Chad keep a watch over your special mother she is truly a rare gem.

To My Dearest Baby Boy, here are my thoughts on the up coming Sunday May 11,2014 (MOTHER'S DAY)I am the mother of a child who died. And that makes Mother's Day very hard.
Other days of the year you can maybe make it a few hours without thinking about your loss, other days of the year you can pretend that you are an ordinary person and that life is normal. But not on Mother's Day.
On Mother's Day it's in your face that my child is gone forever. On Mother's Day I can't pretend that I am ordinary or that life is normal. All the hoopla, all the Hallmark cards, the handmade cards and flowers and family gatherings, make it almost excruciating.
The real challenge after losing a you is moving forward. It's almost impossible to envision in that moment of loss, how can life continue after something so horrible? But life does continue, whether I like it or not. There are chores to do and bills to pay. Morning comes, again and again. So I pick yourself up and I live, but I am not or never will be the same. 
At first, I was different because of my raw sadness. But over time, the sadness moved from my skin into my bones. It changes into a wisdom, one I would give up in a heartbeat to have you back. We momma's and daddy's who have lost children understand life's fragility and beauty. I have learned since lossing you that so many things just aren't important. All that is important is those I love. All that is important is each other. Nothing else.
It is very lonely, being the parent of a child who died. Especially on Mother's Day or Father's Day. I feel so different from those around me, all those happy people with children the same age as you were or would have been. But over the years, I pray I will come to understand that I'm not alone at all,even though I feel like it.
Loss is part of life. There are no guarantees, ever. Our children, and all those I love, are gifts to me for however long I have them.

Hi Chady Buck,I wish you were still here. It does not feel right you being gone.I feel privileged that you called me Aunt Wanda. You always gave me a big hug and kiss whenever I seen you. Hello Son, I have been trying to write this ever since Sunday, which was Easter.I remember last year at Easter, you and your sister hiding the eggs for the boys to find and I just could not do Easter this year.We went out to Michelle's on Saturday and had Easter.Not your traditional Easter Meal of ham and stuff, we had Italian.I know how much you would have loved it and trust me your sister is a GREAT cook,must take after your momma(ha ha)Son,you left me way to soon and not just me but the whole family misses you so very much.After a rough winter the weather has been awesome, just the right kind of weather for you and Damien to go riding on your motorcycle.Plus the weather is GREAT for doing all the stuff you two used to do together.You were always more of his Dad than his Uncle.He tells everyone you are and were his Dad.You are his hero. This whole thing is just not fair,none of it,but,no one promised me life would be fair.I just want to say you were my baby boy, my big momma's boy and my life just isn't complete anymore without you.I love you Son.I pray you had a GREAT Easter in Heaven.Love,Hugs,and Kisses, Momma

Son,I have no idea what triggered it today,but I have cried and cried all day today.I miss you so very much.I just don't feel any enjoyment or fun out of life anymore.I try so hard to go on and have a life that I know you would want me to have,but my heart no longer smiles.I love you and always will.I will continue to hurt until the day I finally get to join you and have happiness once again.It is very sad at home, no laughter,and I feel so sorry for Damien because he does not deserve any of this.I just wish I could and would wake up from this horrible nightmare.Your calls everyday to talk about anything and everything and I do mean EVERYTHING and just to hear you say "I Love You Momma"are what got me through each day now that I look back.I would come in from work and usually ask Dad "Have you talked to Chad today cause I haven't heard from him today" You and I talked everyday or argue on some of them.I miss that.Yes, I talk to everybody else family and friends but, it is just not the same,its not YOU.So this is how I talk to you now.I guess some people think I'm crazy for doing this or not getting over you being gone,and maybe I am crazy, but, I will never get over losing you NEVER! Happy Valentines Day Son!I love and miss you so very much.In life or death you will always be my baby boy.Son, when you died everything inside of me died also,I am trying so very hard to get some happy feelings back.I feel like I just go through this life putting on my happy face front,so as not to let everyone see how really sad I am.If it was not for your sister I think I would have been committed by now.Yet, I don't want her to have to constantly be putting the pieces back together for me as she has her own life to live.I hate to say this but our home and family have now become a house where three people exist. OKAY SON, You can stop the bad weather anytime now!We have had enough snow and ice for this winter season.I know if you were here you and Damien would be throwing snowballs and going sleigh riding.He is having such a hard time without you.You were the only positive role model in his life and he loved you more than he loved anyone in his life.Teen years are hard enough and then not having someone to talk to makes them even harder.He tells me all the time he has no one to talk to like you.Yes, you got on him but you would listen to him talk to you about anything and everything and he knew he could always come to you.I pray I can get him the help he needs and into a new school next year that will work with him and help him succeed in life.Chad you have no idea how very much you are missed and loved.You still have poor OLD dad working on cars.Chanel came over on Saturday and her and Dad worked on her car all day long.You would have a fit if you saw the color. I told her it was your fault the brakes went bad because it was KENTUCKY BLUE and we all know what a DIE hard U of L bleeding RED fan you were.I think it is so bizarre how you always would say"Just once mom,just once in my life time I want to see them (U of L Cards)win the National Championship just once momma" and the very year of your leaving us they won and you got to see every bit of it. You screemed and hollered so much you didn't have a voice for a week.Poor Damien only has me to get excited with him now when they play and I am getting so old myself that even though I still LOVE watching them I don't have the screem and holler in me like I use to.Why Chad Why? Life really SUCKS since you are no longer in it.I miss you more and more each day instead of less and less each day.My life feels so disorganized and disrupted and I have gone from hurt to MAD very very mad.I just want to hold you and kiss you and tell you how much I love you baby boy.Miss you! Hi Son, I already wrote to you about this once,but it was lost so I will try to rewrite to you. On Sunday 12/15 (also your sister's birthday)I went to my church for "Remembrance Night" I thought it would help, but every time I saw your picture up on that 50foot screen I cried my eyes out.Seeing those big baby blues of yours just about broke my heart.You are so handsome and I miss you so very much.Then on Thursday 12/19 I went to a Candle Light Service just for parents to remember their children and Light a Candle for them. I did so so till they played this song I had never heard before called "Christmas In Heaven"and I started wondering if this was how it was going to be for you.The words are "December hasn't changed, this town looks the same, they still light that tree in the city square. There's red,white,and green shining everywhere,and I wish you were here and I wonder, Is the snow falling down on the streets of gold? Are the mansions all covered in white? Are you singing with angels"Silent Night"? I wonder what Christmas in Heaven is like? Are you kneeling with shepherds before him now? Can you reach out and touch his face? Are you part of that glorious Holy Night? I wonder what Christmas in Heaven is like? I pray you had that kind of Christmas.I really felt sorry for Damien as it was noon on Christmas day when he ask if any one was going to watch him open his gifts. I just wanted the day to go away.We didn't even make Jesus's Birthday Cake this year. I will never forget how that got started. You were about four and said that year on Christmas morning"If its Jesus Birthday then why don't we bake him a birthday cake" so that started that tradition, but I just could not do it this year.Plus, I will never forget you not wanting anyone to cut the cake because it was Jesus Birthday and we had to wait till he cut his cake. That took a lot of explaining, but we finally convinced you to let us cut it, since it would be a while before Jesus came back to earth, and now there you are with him 24-7,you are the lucky one not us on this horrible planet earth.I miss you so much son.I miss your voice,your smell,your crazy OCD ways,your love for your momma(my big momma's boy),I miss everything about you son and about being your momma. You will always be my baby boy and I will always be your momma. I love you son. Love Momma

Well,Son we just had our first Thanksgiving with out you.I miss you so very much and this pain never goes away.I wanted to come home from your sisters and fix you a plate of leftovers to bring to you cause I knew how much you loved momma's cooking and all the leftovers.I love you baby boy and miss you so very much.I miss our talks,your hugs,your smile,you always telling me how much you love me.I even miss your OCD.I miss all your Chad sayings,like,"Mom, Mom, Take a deep breath,count to 10 and call your therapist" or you saying "OH MY WOW" all the time.Oh, and what about "What's Crackalackin Home Skillet?" you use to crack me up every time you would say that,gosh I miss you more than you will ever know or imagine.This whole thing is just not fair,I was supposed to go first not you.Christmas is coming up and I know how much you loved it. You were such a big kid with all the decorations and gifts and food, you loved the holidays so much and now it so very hard for me to but a smile on my face when such a big part of my holidays are gone.I Love You Baby Boy. I could be in a crowd of 10,000 anywhere.and chad was one of those guys I knew,we seen each other everywhere.first thing he would yell my last name out loud as he could.i'd know it was him long before I seen his face.never will I hear you in a crowd again.rest easy friend.....

So sorry for the family's loss.  Always had fond memories of Chad tagging along with Zach and I wherever we played ball, and as the best man in Zach's wedding, among others.
