

Charles was a self-employed carpenter who owned and maintained many properties across the city.
He was a member of the Army's 100th Division for thirteen years and was deployed during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
He was an active member of St. Albert the Great Church for over 57 years, serving on numerous committees and an active member of the Al’s ACES.
Every year, Charles looked forward to volunteering for St. Albert’s annual parish picnic and the weekly Lenten fish fry.
Charles is preceded in death by his eldest son Charles Brunner III; his parents, Chester and Ruth Brunner; along with his five siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Brunner, their children, Larry Brunner (Marney), Karen Chambers (Bill), Pam Kleine-Kracht (Mike) and a daughter-in-law, Paula Brunner, wife of the late Charles Brunner III. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one more on the way.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held February 10th at St. Albert the Great Church, 1395 Girard Drive Louisville, KY 40222.
Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. in the church gathering space with mass beginning at noon. Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery will follow immediately after the service.
A reception for family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Albert Parish Life Center. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Albert the Great Church.
