He was born on March 22, 1925 to the late Joseph and Mary Carr. He had retired from Brown Forman Distillery after 35 years of service; he also had served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
Charlie had volunteered with the Highview Ministries and Guardian Angel Catholic Church. He was a Catholic by faith, a graduate of Male High School and was honored as a Kentucky Colonel. Charlie was a devoted, loving and caring husband and father. He was a fun loving person with a quick sense of humor. He loved to garden and could fix anything mechanical. In his last years Charlie enjoyed the friendship of his beloved Chihuahua, Chi Chi.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Pauline Decker Carr; children, Charles "Juni" Carr Jr., Madonna Flood (John) and Tammy Ong (Dr. Francis); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
