

Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carolynn Richy, his parents, William and Pauline Richy, abrother, William Richy Jr., and a sister, Rosemary Harley.
He is survived by his children, Lynette Heil (Cliff) and Jeffrey Richy (Brenda) a brother, Gerald "Fritz" Richy. Grandchildren, Lauren Heil (Jared), Amanda Waldridge (Jacob), Blake Ward (Kendra) and Paige Ward (Jeff), great grandsons, Colton Waldridge and Elijah Ward.
Charles Richy was born in Louisville, Kentucky as 1 of 4 children to William and Pauline Richy. He attended Okolona high school as the class of 1951. He enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard in 1949. He was a Master Sergeant, Kentucky Colonel and was a member of the Eangus Association. He served in the military for 41 years and 9 months before retiring in 1991. After retirement, he began his own lawn care business named Lou’s Lawn Service.
Charlie married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1957 and was married for 59 years before she passed. Together, they enjoyed Toby tour trips, square dancing for the Cardinal Twirlers and were loyal members of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. They had a son (Jeff) and daughter (Lynette) followed by two granddaughters years later. Lauren and Amanda meant the world to them and they shared great memories, including a Disney trip and lots of ice cream dates. The last few years of his life he enjoyed Saturday evening dinners, nightly bowls of ice cream and time spent outside on the porch swing. His last dream was met when he held his first great-grandson Colton. Charlie will be dearly missed, but his legacy will forever be in our hearts.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 3-8 pm on Tuesday July 8, 2025 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville KY 40218.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church 2042 Buechel Bank Rd, Louisville KY 40218 with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Crusade for Children or Hosparus of Louisville.
