He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Louisville in 1996. He graduated from Ballard High School. Colby enjoyed reading comics, cooking, playing video games and giving Ruby, the family lab-mix, too many treats. His specialty dessert was a white cake with fluffy vanilla frosting. Colby loved Reese’s Puffs cereal and would eat them by the truckload. Colby had many jobs throughout the years and touched many people's lives in Kentucky, California, and Washington but most recently he was the cook at Wayside Christian Mission, where he was responsible for preparing meals for over 150 people each day.
Colby is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elio and Delores DePiero, and Phillip Leonelli.
Colby is survived by his parents, Sandy DePiero and Ray DePiero, brothers, Vince and Victor DePiero and his grandmother, Florence Leonelli. Colby will also be dearly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and furry family, Ruby, Rex, and Tucker.
