She is a member at Ninth and O Baptist Church and was an insurance claims processor for Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Company.
Cornelia is preceded in death by her parents, Fred L. and Pearl Holder Kirk, and first husband, Paul H. Sanders, siblings, Jane Wood and James Aaron Kirk.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Henry Cowden, children, Ronald Kirk Sanders (Melinda) and Paula Sanders Benton (John), siblings, Lou Green, Patsy McCartney and Earl Kirk, grandchildren, Brent Benton, Abbey Benton Belt, Lindsay Utley and Allison Lupton. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Cornelia’s life will be conducted at 12 noon on Friday January 8, 2016 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with interment to follow in Milan TN at a later date. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8pm on Thursday, January 7, 2016 and after 9am the day of the funeral.
