He was an Intelligence Analyst with 20th Special Forces Group(Airborne), Military Intelligence Detachment, aka "The Game Changers". He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Kentucky Distinguished Service Medal. He was a 2014 graduate of Southern High School and was a student at The University of Louisville. He was a Norseman by faith.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles William Ritchie; grandmother, Barbara Major Grider; and cousin, Trevor Leighton Harris.
Survivors include his parents, John and Desiree Grider; brother, Kevin Yankey; sister, Sabrina Yankey; grandfather, Don Grider; grandmother, Sandra Lancaster; aunt, Shannon Grider; uncles, Kevin Harris(Monica), Shawn Harris(Karen), and Shannon Harris(Tammy); nephews, Leighton, Michael, Hunter, and Warren; and cousins, Ashley, Shawn, Peyton, Shelby, Shannon Jr. "Buddha", Isaiah, Lily, Belle, and Jackson.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Arch L. Heady & Son Okolona Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12-8pm Friday.
Memorial contributions can be made to Wounded Warrior Project. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
