Danny Daugherty Sr.

He was an avid UK fan, retired from Conco after 40 years of employment, was a member of the Steelworkers Union, the Fairdale Booster Club, and was a coach with the Bluelick Optimists Club. Danny was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. What he loved the most were his grandchildren, who he supported in all of their activities.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mildred Daugherty, siblings, Jerry and Charolette Daugherty and a grandson, James Marcellous Hibbs, Jr.

He is survived by his companion of 29 years, Kay Holloman, children, Danny “Butch” Daugherty (Denise), Christy Frey (Willy) and Robin Hibbs (Mark) and a stepson, Jimmy Lewter (Lucy) , Grandchildren, Torie, Kylee, Kelsey, Kayla, Jimmy, Jennifer, Ellen, Bubba and Gabby. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, 7 siblings and his loyal tabby cat, Baby.

A funeral service to celebrate Danny’s life will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8pm on Monday, January 18, 2016 and after 11am the day of the funeral.
