Born on July 21, 1935, Darleen lived a full and vibrant life characterized by her unwavering thoughtfulness and the joy she found in the simplicity of watching sports.
Her life was one of dedication and service, first to her family and then to the countless lives she touched with her sage advice and genuine care. Darleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Strange, her son, Kirk Strange, her brother, Lester Timmons, and is survived by a legacy of love and family including her daughter, Janet Smith, her son, George Strange, her brother, David Timmons, her sister, Theresa Jarboe, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were the light of her life.
Darleen was known for her sharp wit and being a straight shooter, qualities that earned her respect and admiration from all who knew her. She embraced life with a passion that was evident in her love for all sports, particularly golf and basketball. Darleen's enthusiasm was contagious, and she could often be found sharing her love for the game with her family and friends.
As a mother, Darleen excelled. She was a strong role model, always guiding with a gentle hand and a kind word. She instilled in her children the values of honesty, hard work, and compassion. It was in her role as a grandmother that Darleen truly shone. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

A visitation for Darleen will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
