She was a member of Amnesty International, Moose Lodge #5, American Civil Liberties Union, the Democratic National Committee and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary post 229.
Virginia was the former owner of a home based cake decorating business. The former owner of Psychic Eye Books and Gifts in Palm Harbor Fl. She was a writer, an astrologer and talented in arts and crafts. Her main love was the study of Eastern Philosophy and Paramahansa Yogananda.
She is preceded in death by her father: Robert E. Austin, her mother: Virginia Hawkins Smith, brothers: David and Andrew Austin.
Virginia is survived by her former husband: Roger C. Smith Sr., a daughter, Leslie Link, Sons: Roger C. Smith Jr., Martin E. Baxter, Dale Baxter. Siblings, Dianne Austin, Robert Austin, Darrel Austin, grandchildren; Courtney Baxter, Bridgett Baxter and Bradley Smith.
A private ceremony was held in her remembrance.
