SANDLIN, DAVID LEONARD SR., 83, of South Louisville, passed from this life on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He was a native of Jackson County KY, retired from BASF Inmont, a member of Beechmont Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, the former Dorothy Stowers; daughters, Valerie Van Leuven (Alan) and Mary Beth Settle (Kenny); sons, David Jr., (Lucille), George (Kim), Tommy (Angie) and Doug Sandlin (Donna); a sister, Fran Fliss; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Sandlin's life will be held noon Friday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Entombment will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
