David was a loving and proud Dad and Papa. He was a loyal and hard worker who enjoyed supporting the Louisville Cardinals, caring for his dogs, learning about history and space exploration, solving crosswords and other puzzles, and playing golf and bowling in his younger years. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law.
David is survived by his daughter Danielle Gorman (Josiah); granddaughter Jaelle and unborn granddaughter Phoebe; siblings Debbie Ulery (Doug) and Brian McCarty; and nieces, nephews, and their children.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Carmella McCarty, and his brother Greg McCarty.
A service to honor David’s life will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10 AM in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home at 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4 - 8 PM in the funeral home.
