David Robert Phelps, Sr.

David is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Phelps & Mary Catherine “Kat” Krebs & his canine companion, Shelby Nodler. He graduated from Bellarmine University in 1964 with a degree in Business Administration & retired from the Louisville Water Company after 34 years of service. He was a proud alumnus of Flaget High School’s class of 1958 & enjoyed snow-birding at his winter home in Bradenton, FL. His family & friends will remember him through the witty nicknames he gave them.

David leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Sharon, his children Kimberly Phelps, David Phelps, Jr. (Cindy), Karen Huffman (Dennis), & Danny Corder (Lorna), his siblings, Jo Ann Wright, Sharon Mulhall (Robert), & Patrick Phelps (Bobbi), his grandchildren Terra Noland (Tim), Chad Huffman (Sara), Adam Corder, Justin & Jaylee Southwood, Brooke Corder, and Connor & Camden Horelick, and his four great-grandchildren Taylor, Trystan, Treyson, & True Noland, and many other family & friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M., Monday July 18th with a celebration of David’s life at 7:00 P.M. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Children’s Hospital Foundation (Area of Greatest Need).
