

He was retired from the Ford Motor Co. (L.A.P.) and from the United States Military (U.S.N & U.S.C.G.) where he was trained in electrical engineering. He always fought for the workingman and never forgot his roots. Mr. Rodman served six years in the Philippines Islands at U.S. Naval Communications Station Tarlac and was assigned to the U.S.S. Sacramento III AOE. During that time he continued to enter the war zone providing specialized services vital to the forces engaged with the enemy. Among his many awards are: the Naval Unite Commendation Ribbon and Naval Defense Service Metal on Sept. 24th 1966; the Vietnam Service Metal and Bronze Star on Dec. 16th 1966; and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal with Device on June 9th 1967.
Husband, Dad, Papa and friend, he was the "Rock" of the family and will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Emma Rodman; a brother, Bob (Frances); and a sister, Betty Cascone (John).
His loving survivors include his wife, Cecelia (Lustig); children, George (Linda), Chris and daughter, Yvonne Williams (Sean) of Florida; stepchildren, Christopher (Heather of Indiana, Carla Pursnani (Harrish) of New York and Penny Kramer (Donald) of Hawaii; grandchildren, Nick, Andy, Carly, Tina, Mandy, Delaney; stepgrandchildren, Kylie, Sadie, Jacob, Alex, Eric, Nick and Lexie; his brothers, Jim (Mary Helen), Ed (Sherry), Carl (Diana); and his sister, Carol Thraser (Marvin); and many nieces and nephews. His lifelong friends, Tom Parker and Ted Toledo.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 till 8:00 p.m. Please visit www.archlheadyresthaven.com.
