

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 13th, 1940 to Clarence and Dorothy Stevenson. David was a proud Navy veteran, a Freemason, a Kosair Shriner, and built his career at the Ford Truck Plant. He was known for his incredible cooking and love for travel. He carried a lifelong interest in plays and the Broadway Series, of which he and his wife were seat holders for 30 years. David was also music lover, passing a deep appreciation of the arts down to his children. Above all, he was a family man. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. The truest joy in his life was spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife of over 25 years, Carol Stevenson, as well as many other beloved family members.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Teresa “Teri” Stevenson (Mark), Dana Stevenson, and Paul Stevenson; his brother, Richard Stevenson; his sister, Barbra Kuechlin (Ron); his grandchildren, Ashley Cornish (Floyd), Charles Paul Jones, Shelby Salinas (Blake), Jessica Stevenson (Oscar), Cheryl Barnett (Rain), Blaine Barnette (Chelsey), and Skyler Muse (Wayne); his great-grandchildren, Collin Cornish (Tabby), Zachary Stevenson, Drake Cornish, Kaydan Curtsinger, Karlie Curtsinger, Cali Barnette, Hannah Stevenson, Shayne Goodloe, Denvy Salinas, Elias Salinas, Ripley Griffith, and Raina Griffith; great-grandchild, Zander Cornish; the mother of his children, Cheryl Bauer; his sister-in-law, Patti Hunt; and his nephews, Ray Ash, Bradley Stevenson, Joseph Hunt, and Jeffery Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in David’s name be made to the Kosair Shriners.
A visitation for David will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.
David Stevenson will be entombed at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
