She was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Robert and Martha Leitner on December 6, 1955. Debby attended St Dennis and St Athanasius Catholic schools. She graduated from Moore High School in 1973. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Rita Catholic Church regularly. She retired from Loan Processing after 20 plus years of service. She loved playing the slots, traveling across our country with her dad, swimming, and being a Red Hatter. Nothing compared to her joy spending time with her family and friends and playing board games or cards with her grandson!
Debby was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, David Leitner.
Left to cherish Debby’s memory is her loving husband of 30 years, Robert “Mike” Combs; son, Bryan Downs (Shannon); grandson, Richard “Ricky” Downs; brothers, Ralph Leitner, Robby Leitner, Johnny Leitner (Linda), Tommy Leitner; sister-in-law, Debbie Leitner; best friends, Mary Leitner, Marilyn Neal, Susan “Toohey” McQueen, Marsha Killman; and many extended family and friends.
Visitation for Debby will be Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 2pm until 7pm at Arch L Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel, 8519 Preston Hwy 40219. Her Funeral Mass will be 10am on Monday, January 12, 2026 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy 40219. She will be buried in Resthaven Memorial Park immediately following the Mass.
Memorial donations in Debby’s honor should be directed to Hosparus Health of Louisville or the Glioblastoma Foundation or St. Rita Catholic Church.
