Meechie was a devout follower of Christ and attended Kenwood Heights Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed watching the Louisville Cardinals, especially women’s basketball games with her daughter. Meechie was known for her extravagant decorations, which she changed seasonally. She was also a 17-year breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed her work, spending time with her friends, and, most of all, being with her family, who lovingly knew her as “Meme.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Margaret Winders; her brother, Lyman Winders (Martha); and her dear companion, Jack Bahm. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Winders (Carol); her daughters, Robin Androski, Sheere Tock (Jim), Tammy Woodburn (widow of Ken), and Leigh Rice; as well as her grandchildren, Sydney Tock Jones (Will), Nathan Tock (Sam), Susan Woodburn, Rebecca Woodburn, Emily Woodburn, and Zac Rice.
A visitation for Meechie will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213. A service to honor the life of Meechie will be Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Meechie will be laid to rest near her parents at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
