Born to John and Florence Keller in Lexington, Kentucky, Donald grew up with strong family values he carried throughout his life. A lifelong learner and accomplished professional, Donald earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky and his MBA at Xavier University. He spent much of his career as CEO of two prominent steel forging companies, guiding them with integrity and expertise. His professional journey took him and his family from Cincinnati, Ohio to Arlington Heights, Illinois, where they resided for 34 years, and later to Louisville, Kentucky, where they made their home for the past 20 years.
In retirement, Donald dedicated his time and talents to giving back, working with nonprofits such as YouthBuild Louisville (now known as Blueprint 502), the Center for Neighborhoods, and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE). He was passionate about strengthening communities and empowering others to succeed.
Donald's faith was a cornerstone of his life. A loyal member of Epiphany Catholic Church, he was an active participant in the Ten Percent Committee and served as a welcoming greeter for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Florence Keller, and is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Rosemary Reiser Keller, and their loving family: Phillip Keller of Melbourne, Florida; Karen Harley (Daniel) of Irvine, California; and Stephen Keller (Junko) of Pasadena, California. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Hayden Keller, Grant Keller, John Harley, Brendan Harley, and Sophia Keller. Donald is also survived by his siblings, John Keller, Martha Emory, Kevin Keller, as well as his nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church in Anchorage, Kentucky, on February 1, 2025 at 11am, with visitation prior from 9am-11am. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Donald's memory to Blueprint 502 (YouthBuild Louisville), SCORE, or Epiphany Catholic Church.
Donald will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family, faith, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will be cherished by all who knew him.
