

Doris Jean Wayne, 96, passed away on March 6, 2026. She was born on December 10, 1929, to Elmer Dasher and Stella Smith Dasher in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Doris worked for Conna Corporation for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Parkland Baptist Church where she was the President of the Livewire group for 16 years. Doris loved going to church and she even attended the Lunch Bunch group often. She was a considerate and helpful person; she would often go visit friends in nursing homes and bring them gifts. Doris also enjoyed listening to music, some of her favorites were Reba McEntire, Frank Sinatra, and the rest of the rat pack. She loved to shop and spend time with her friends and family. She was known to have a “backyard bash”, where her family and friends would gather and cookout and spend quality time together. Most of all, Doris never met a stranger, she was friendly and very loving. She will be missed.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward “Eddie” Allen Wayne.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Wayne (Kathy) and Bruce Wayne (Sandy); her grandchildren, Steve Wayne (Jessica), Brian Wayne (Kim), and Corey Wayne (Samantha); her great grandchildren, Neriah Wayne, Colton Wayne, Carter Wayne, Brian Wayne, Sawyer Wayne; her great great grandchildren, Avery and Bryson; and her granddoggie, Hope.
A visitation for Doris will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and will resume in the same location the following day, Monday, March 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Evergreen Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 PM. She will be entombed with alongside her beloved husband at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hosparus of Louisville for their generosity and extraordinary care of Doris during her last months. They ask if any memorial contributions are to be made, that they are in Doris’ name to Hosparus of Louisville.
