Mrs. Bing was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Hayes Sherrard.
Dorothy was a dedicated educator and librarian who served the Jefferson County Public Schools for over 30 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, David Bing (Cheri), Carol Prewitt and Ralph Bing (Beverly); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after noon Thursday until the time of the service.
