Born in Marion County, Kentucky on Sunday, March 24, 1940, Dorothy was the daughter of the lates’ BJ Mills and Mary Celeste Mattingly. She was a Homemaker and member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Dorothy loved to travel, fish, go boating and visit casinos. She had a large energy for fun and life. Her laugh was so infectious that you couldn’t hear it without joining in the laughter. Later in life she retired from a professional post construction cleaning service and worked in the office of Gross Diamond. Dorothy lived a full life! A life – well – lived!
Besides her parents, BJ and Mary Celeste Mills; her husband of 68 years, Donald Victor “Donnie” Myers; children, Pam Slovacek and Steven Myers; her son – in – law, Jeff Coke; sister, Joan Luckett; brothers – in – law, Jack Luckett, William Leake, Joe Lee Myers; sister – in – law, Rose Mills; and several other loving family members precede Dorothy in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janet Coke; son, Victor (Vickie) Myers; 9 – grandchildren; 8 – great – grandchildren; sisters, Jane Myers and Mary Lou Leake; brothers, Mike Mills and Pat (Twyla) Mills; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel. A short Prayer Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Dorothy will be laid to rest in a Private Family only service at Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums.
In lieu of flowers and customary expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions can be directed in memory of Dorothy to St. Jude.
